Golden Gate Park, An A to Z Adventure, now a StoryWalk on JFK Promenade

Marta Lindsey stands with the first page of the Golden Gate Park StoryWalk

Right now, installed along one mile of JFK Promenade in Golden Gate Park, is my book!

Golden Gate Park, An A to Z Adventure was installed in late 2022 as a StoryWalk in a partnership between the San Francisco Public Library, Illuminate the Arts, and the SF Recreation & Parks Department and as part of the Golden Mile.

The StoryWalk allows you to walk along and read the entire book over a ~.5 mile walk. Panels from the book are installed on 14 light posts.

How to experience the StoryWalk for Golden Gate Park, An A to Z Adventure

  • To read the book in order, go to the intersection of Conservatory Drive East and JFK Promenade to find the letter A nearby (walk toward McLaren Lodge on the northern side of JFK Promenade).

  • You’ll find the letter Z at 8th Avenue and JFK Promenade, just a little past Skatin’ Place.

In 2023, I’ll be leading some talks on the StoryWalk to bring some of my favorites stories from Golden Gate Park, An A to Z Adventure to life for kids and families. Check back here or the Golden Mile.
