Books in the Park at the Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park

Marta Lindsey will join Gus D'Angelo, author of National Parks A to Z, for ‘Books on the Park’ in the Great Meadow of the San Francisco Botanical Garden, which is co-sponsored by Marta’s favorite bookstore, Green Apple Books. Marta will share her book, Golden Gate Park: An A to Z Adventure, and attendees will then be able to do a scavenger hunt inspired by the book.

Author Day at Jefferson Elementary

Jefferson Elementary will celebrate its 23rd annual "Author's Day" on Monday, April 11, 2022 which connects students to Bay Area authors/illustrators and promotes the love of reading.

Marta Lindsey will join ten other authors/illustrators at the school for special talks. In preparation for Author's Day, students read multiple books by the authors and prepare thoughtful discussion questions.

Earth Day Family Storytime and Whale Talk at the San Francisco Public Library (West Portal)

Celebrate Earth Day by learning about one of the earth’s most fascinating animals: the Pacific gray whale.

Marta will read her children’s book Little Gray’s Migration, the story of a baby gray who must follow his mother on an epic 5000-mile migration from Mexico to Alaska.

After the story, Marta will give a fun, interactive presentation for kids and grownups alike to learn about the Pacific gray whale. The timing for this talk is ideal as it is right in the midst of whale watching season here along the California coast.

Whale Talk and Whale Watching at Point Reyes National Seashore

Come learn about the amazing eastern Pacific gray whale – considered to have one of the longest migrations on the planet – with author of Little Gray’s Great Migration Marta Lindsey.

Marta’s interactive presentation, perfect for kids and adults alike, will include some fascinating science about gray whale as well tips for whale watching. After the presentation, you can head with Marta to Point Reyes Lighthouse to look for whales yourself!
